Rosie O'Donnell's Conspiracy Theory: Bill O'Reilly Responds

Anthony Caroto
She's offensive is speech and physical nature, but to be in her position and to support a 9/11-related conspiracy theory takes a lot of guts. She's put the ball in play for the public forum, igniting talk radio switchboards and cable news networks. The theories are out there for mass consumption- some of which present a strong challenge to the current history books.

This new round of trouble with O'Donnell began with a March 15th blog entry titled "wtc 7". In it, O'Donnell presented the "facts" to what may have brought down the third building on September 11th, 2001. "Hold on folks, here we go," she types before unleashing a brief list of probabilities, most of which came directly from the cinematic bible for conspiracy theorist, Loose Change.

From Wikipedia: Loose Change is an internet film written and directed by Dylan Avery, produced by Korey Rowe with researcher Jason Bermas. The film presents a 9/11 conspiracy theory to set forth the claim that elements within the United States government planned and executed the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. It is one of the most watched films on the Internet, with over 10 million viewers in 2006.

Coincidentally, an Internet film titled Screw Loose Change is also available. This version, obviously, is a direct challenge to the previously stated "facts" in Loose Change.

Rosie again presented her opinions on live television via her show, The View. Her New York styled "fuck you" glare annoys me. Her rant is far from believable, even if its fact. Hillary Clinton would be proud.

Bill O'Reilly, host of the O'Reilly Factor, took her to task during his March 29th broadcast. His guests for the segment were Bernard Goldberg, a best selling author and political commentator for Fox News, and Jane Hall, also a political commentator for Fox News.

"...she is mainstreaming hateful nonsense. All the things you just played, these are - I want to be kind but they're stupid things. They're idiotic things. And she is not saying them in some dark, far-left corner of the World Wide Web. She is saying it on a major broadcast network that's owned by a giant entertainment conglomerate." Goldberg argued, claiming The View's audience was comprised of "the most unsophisticated, politically unsophisticated, viewers in all of America."

Jane Hall, also a political commentator for Fox News , adds- "Well they've got the woman Elisabeth on the show who is hardly a match for Rosie O'Donnell. I think until recently ABC made a commercial calculation that at least in terms of this war in Iraq public opinion had shifted."

"I mean, the reason they fired Bill Maher was that it was right after 9/11. I think they made a calculation that women like Rosie. Even if they don't agree with her. They sort of like her fighting Donald Trump and this was provocative and got them on YouTube and your show. Right now, having seen the stuff where she talks about conspiracy theories and look up the Gulf of Tonkin which was you know the reference to Vietnam starting perhaps under false pretenses under Lyndon Johnson, I mean she is putting out a very political point of view. It's not countered within the program."

O'Reilly offered the following comment- "ABC would never hire a conservative individual to do what she does. But I want to throw out some stats here. Since January, The View has lost almost half-a-million viewers. Now year to year they're up. But the calculation they made... looks now to be coming into a disaster area."

He closed the segment by stating "Rosie O'Donnell is invited on this program any time she wants to reply."

Other political writers have also weighted in on Rosie's actions:

Joe O'Connell, a writer for The Conservative Voice, stated "...Rosie O'Donnell, Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn and others have only a pulpit and no sense of reality. None of these Hollywood elites have ever done any research on steel engineering. Listening to anything they say is akin to taking marital advice from a barn door (or a barn in Rosie's case)."

Mark A Alexander, executive editor and publisher of the Patriot Post, writes: "Big Rosie" supports her claim by insisting that those "steel buildings" could only have imploded if secondary explosives were used -- as if Operation Enduring Freedom against al-Qa'ida jihadis wouldn't have been justified had the Twin Towers somehow withstood the barbaric attack."

A line has now been drawn, and many in the media are pressuring ABC to fire Rosie O'Donnell. However, now may be the best time to formally acknowledge and disprove the suggestions of government involvement with 9/11.

O'Donnell is not the only celebrity to express 9/11 conspiracy concerns. She's joined by others such as Charlie Sheen, Ed Asner and Janeane Garofalo.

The media in the US makes you ignorant. I know it cos I used to live there and now I am far far away from the homeland. Read www.savethemales.ca and you'll find answers. 911 was an inside job. Period.

If Rosie is wrong, that means every Skyscraper is in danger of Collapsing killing everyone inside.
And anyone who thinks they should NOT be torn down is a murderer. What the Government seems to be saying, is that a small plane can crash into the Sears Tower, the impact can remove all the fireproof coating on the steal beams and the fuel can make it melt and the Building collapse. The WTC is suppose to handle a impact from a plane. All skyscrapers are, according to code. Planes crash into tall Buildings. They are called accidents. Now that they know that the Sear tower can collapse, what are they doing to dismantle all the skyscrapers? And what Happened to all those Airport Surveillance videos showing the terrorist getting on the planes? How come none of the 911 calls supposedly made from the planes, had no people screaming or talking in the back ground? You would think there would at least be a terrorist yelling "get the fock off the phone." Why would anyone hang up a phone if the

Bernard Goldberg commenting on "hateful nonsense"? Mama mia! And O'Reilly trying to "debate" others by stating that they've lost viewers? O'Reilly (and Fox News in general) has lost nearly 30% from their peak, more than any other cable news network. That one won't stand and it shouldn't anyway -- the number of viewers a station has says nothing about their credibility. If it did, Fox News' credibility has dropped dramatically (30%); to use these things to back up your point is nothing but lazy.

They should simply be focusing on Rosie and her statements instead of trying to turn this into political points, us against them, big bad network television against the underdog (in this case, Fox News is supposed to be an underdog?).

I do agree completely with their presumed conclusion -- that these conspiracy theories are loosely based, easily discredited and created by those with a bias and an agenda that perfectly explain their ideas of this "conspiracy." Fox News should be the "bigge

This is my first time here,so I didn't realize the content was limited. Start with the comment beginning with "Here is a simple question...", and end with "negative to their own society" . Free your mind of influence created by fear tactics and vague, unsubstantiated hypothesis/conspiracy theories. Stand up and lead; refuse to be part of the flock.

I can go on and on, as her hypocrisies and flat-out lies are numerous (beyond belief), but why bother. If she is your "Flag-Ship" of cultural and political ideology, good luck and honestly, good riddance. The irony is that our BRAVE TROOPS are out there fighting and in some cases sacrificing their lives so that a blowhard such as this disgrace can spew her Anti-American propaganda

Here is a simple question. Has this treasonous media figurehead EVER supported anything that was Pro-American? And I'm not talking about her so-called charity events. She will gladly defend terrorists and dictatorships,(but of course, they (muslims) are not as harmful and murderous as Judeo Christians) yet spew venom and hatred on everything our country, and the beliefs of any kind of religious sect, stands for. Obviously she is very bitter about the majority of the country looking down upon, and in general, not accepting of the homo-sexual lifestyle choice. Well guess what, rosie, the radical militant islamic entities you defend would actually have the homo-sexual "demo-graphic" wiped out entirely, and they inherently see it as a scourge upon their society. Here is the echelon (that means the societal power structure for those "The View" viewers who actually have the mental capacity to read this); 1: Men as a whole (regardless of intellect, stature, or actual contribution positive or
