A new shopping center cropped up nearby, Pompano Citi Centre. Along with some great little stores and services it holds some nice family friendly eateries. One we tried recently was Rotelli's. Hubby is Italian so it takes a lot to impress him. He loved it.

The restaurant offers eating inside or out. Outside there are several nice umbrella'd tables. You can eat and people watch. Because we had our two pooches with us we chose to eat outside. There was another table with a dog across from us. This is a very relaxed place. When you do go inside the aroma of Italian food is just delightful. The restaurant has low light and a very pleasant decor. There are booths and tables.

They do take out, delivery (limited area/$10.00 minimum), dine in and catering. The wait staff is over the top on service and attention. They are extremely pleasant, stopping by many times while we were eating to make sure we had enough bread, water and to make sure we were enjoying our meal. The service was nice and fast as well. This is a good point when you have young chidren eating with you. They are open seven days a week from 11 a.m to 10 p.m. week days and 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday, closing at 11 p.m. Sunday they open at noon and close at 10 p.m.

Rotelli's offers many coupons and special pricing. You can earn points with double opoints on Mondays, you get a free dinner with the purchase of two regular drinks right now through the end of May. They offer an early bird special of $.99 from 3 pm until 6 pm. You buy one early bird meal and get the second for $.99 . You get a choice of a cup of soup or salad and it's dine in only. On Tuesdays a large pizza is $6.95. Lunch served 11 am until 4 pm canrun as little as $6.95 for half a sandwich and soup or slad or a slisce of pizza. Sandwich choices are chicken or eggplant parm, meatball, grilled spa chicken or an Italian combo. If you just want a slice of pizza that is $2.49. There are many more choices for lunch available that run from $7.99 to $9.99.

Now to the food. My husband had a Veal special. The portion was two pieces of Veal Scallopini and three rounds of Spinach. He had Pasta Fagiole. All soups are made from scratch. This was $2.99 for a cup or $4.99 for a bowl. All meals are served witih fresh homeade garlic rolls. Warning : These are EXTREMELY garlicky. They are literally dripping with fresh roasted garlic. The regular rolls are very light and flakey. As tasty as the garlic rolls were they were a bit over the top for my liking.

There are numerous salads from $7.99 to $10.99, appies from $7.99 to $9.99, Wraps are $6.99 to $7.99.Calzones $7.59 to $8.59. Main courses run $8.99 to $17.99. Regular sandwiches are $7.59 to $8.59. If you are interested in having something catered you can get 25 Chicken wings that would feed 4 to 5 people ( $24.99 ) or about $1.00 per wing. Huge platters of Pasta run anywhere form $25.99 to $44.99.

Desserts are decadent. You can get Cheesecake for 2 for only $4.99, Tiramisu, Milky Way or Ultimate Chocolate if you have any room left after eating your meal. Our waiter gave us a Tiramisu sample gratis, which was very nice of him. He insisted we just had to try it .For free.how could we say no

The portions are generous and the food tastes home made. The selection is enormous featuring mostly Italian foods but some healthier lower calorie items as well.

Parking is easy since this is a large, new shopping area and the restaurant itself is wheelchair accessible. For a very pleasant dining experience try the Citi Centre Rotelli's in Pompano Beach and then walk off dinner strolling around the shops..
