Are all clothing irons the same? The answer to that question is no, they are not. I was given a Rowenta Powerglide DE-08 iron for Christmas about 2 years ago. I had another iron, but it did not work right. I was very happy that I was given this iron as a gift, because I was in need of a good quality iron. Not only is it a good quality iron, but it is a cute, lightweight, durable, and powerful iron!

The Rowenta Powerglide DE-08 iron does a superb job of ironing cotton, linen, wool, silk, and synthetics. It really gets the wrinkles out of my clothes quickly and efficiently. With the jet steam feature that this iron has, I do not have to apply constant pressure to get the wrinkles out. You literally can steam some wrinkles out without applying pressure to the fabric.

If the iron accidently falls while it is on and you are not around, it has an automatic shutoff mechanism inside, so it shuts off quickly when it is not in use or it falls. The iron is not too big and it is not too small. It is 3 pounds, so it is not the type of iron that you can throw in your suitcase and travel with. There is a little red light on the side of the iron that lets you know when it is on. If you let it sit for awhile, the red light will turn off, signaling the iron is not on, so it will never just stay hot all of the time. This is a wonderful safety mechanism that is inside the Rowenta Powerglide DE-08 iron and is a great asset, especially if you have children around.
