Roxxy the Latest Model of Animatronic Sex Plaything

Mark Whittington
A company called TrueCompanion has introduced Roxxy, the latest model in an animatronic sex partner. Roxxy, wearing a sexy negligee, was on display at an adult entertainment event in Las Vegas.

The difference between Roxxy and previous models of artificial sex objects is that she has a customizable personality. Depending on which personality the owner chooses, Roxxy will react to both tactile and verbal stimulation. The personalities range from "Wild Wendy" who is outgoing and ready for anything to "Frigid Farrah" who is somewhat more shy and withdrawn. Interests can be modified in order to customize topics of conversation.

Roxxy's physical appearance can also be customized, including hair, eye, and skin color, and breast size. Roxxy is also linked to the Internet, so she can email her master and receive software updates.

Roxxy cannot actually move her limbs by herself, so she can't cook, clean, sew, or do much of anything else that a human being would do out of bed. Because of that, the sex would seem to be a little one sided too, though it is promised that Roxxy will react to that too. The realistic skin and intimate parts suggests a certain promise of pleasurable experience, though.

Roxxy seems to be the latest step toward the era where people can buy a little cybernetic happiness. There would be no need to bother with the peculiarities of human interactions in order to get sex. This would be a boon to many a social outcast or depraved lunatic, depending on what is sought after. For the latter, doing horrible things to an animatronic sex partner may be, why creepy, entirely legal. That will be the case until Roxxy's "descendents" are programmed well enough to pass a Turing test.

On the other hand, Roxxy and her more advanced "descendents" will also be just the thing for people for whom variety is the spice of life. Would it really be adultery if someone comes home and finds one's spouse cavorting with the latest model of Roxxy? Creepy and insulting it might be, unless one has a yen of ménages a trios.

Society is not ready for the implications of easily acquired (at least for a price) cybersex. Religions will likely condemn it, of course. That will not stop the experimenting and the exploring that is likely to ensue.

By the way, for the ladies, TrueCompanions is promising a male version of Roxxy, called Rocky.

Did it have to look like Joey Ramone?

Her inventor looks like George Costanza (and this sounds like something he'd do, for sure) and she looks like Ann Coulter! Awesome!

I can think of about ten or a thousand or a million guys that the female world would love to see, er, holed up with Roxxxy, and out of our lives. Thanks, George!! You should get the Nobel for this!

Interesting points, including the one about how people would react to find a spouse or partner with Roxxy. She is not real so would she be seen as threatening?
