Legendary country music singer Roy Clark and Nickelodeon's Storytime Live! will highlight the month of September for the Cheyenne Civic Center. The official season will not kick off until October 2 with Michael Bolton, but September will have something for those who love classic country music and who follow Nickelodeon's characters. Disclosure: I've been a volunteer usher for the Cheyenne Civic Center since the 2004-05 season. But what I'm writing is my own observations.

Roy Clark's Appearance at the Cheyenne Civic Center is to Benefit the Old West Museum and Storytime Live! Will Play Twice

On Saturday, September 11, at 730 pm, Roy Clark will appear for one show. The iconic country music star who was also memorable for co-hosting Hee Haw with Buck Owens and guest-hosting The Tonight Show will perform on behalf of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, as the proceeds from the concert will help the entity fund their programs, exhibits, etc. The 77 year old entertainer is known for such hits like The Tips of My Fingers, Yesterday When I Was Young, Come Live With Me, according to his Wikipedia discography.

On Monday, September 27, Nickelodeon's Storytime Live! will have both matinee and evening shows, occurring at 4 pm and 7 pm respectively, which will give kids and their parents a chance to pick an after school performance. Expect to see performances from characters on the shows Dora the Explorer; Ni Hao, Kai-lan; The Backyardigans; and the Wonder Pets, according to the show's website here. Moose and Zee will host the musical program that will feature songs witnessed on the four above television network's programs. It runs 90 minutes (including a 15 minute intermission). Most of the characters will be played by human beings.

For the Roy Clark performance, remaining tickets range in price from $39.50 - $49.50. And for the matinee and evening shows of Storytime Live!, remaining tickets range in price from $20 - $35, according to the website of the Cheyenne Civic Center here. For more information about these programs as well as other shows forthcoming, go to the Cheyenne Civic Center website here. Oh, how I would like to go see Roy Clark - but I have commitments to People First in Laramie that night. Bummer! I once saw Roy Clark at CFD about 1972 if I remember right. Magic City Enterprises was a vendor. Vendors could slip up there and watch as they sold. The items we were selling couldn't be easily carried - so, a neighbor vendor put bota bags around my neck and up I went for only about 1/2 hour. Loved it! Great memory!
