Many sports stars have caught the acting bug. If a sports star can juggle their busy schedule, they may crossover to acting by making a cameo appearance on their favorite TV show. Roy Hibbert made use of his time during the lockout by making a cameo appearance on the hit show "Parks and Recreation." He appeared on two episodes, and is hoping to do more. Roy Hibbert plays the center position for the Indiana Pacers.
Shaq O'Neal
In 2001, NBA star Shaq O'Neal made a cameo appearance on "Curb Your Enthusiasm." The episode was called "Shaq." In this episode, Larry accidentally trips and hurts O'Neal while he is playing in a Lakers game. Shaq O'Neal is a four-time NBA Champion. O'Neal has played for the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
Keith Hernandez
In 1992, former New York Mets Keith Hernandez made a cameo appearance on "Seinfeld." The show episode is called "The Boyfriend." It was a two part show. In this episode, Hernandez is accused of spitting on Newman and Kramer, but Jerry supports another theory. Keith Hernandez also played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Indians.
Bo Jackson
In 1990, former baseball and football player Bo Jackson had a cameo appearance on the TV show "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air." It was a Halloween episode called "Some Day Your Prince Will Be in Effect." This was a two part episode. Will brags to his friends that he knows a lot of famous people. Will's friends can expect the unexpected at his Halloween party. In 1985, Bo Jackson won the Heisman Trophy.
Reggie Jackson
In 1981, Reggie Jackson made a guest appearance on the TV show "The Jeffersons." The show episode was called "The Unnatural." In this episode, George misses a grand-slam hit by Reggie Jackson, and is then taunted by his friends. Reggie Jackson is a 14-time All-Star, and in 1977 he won the Babe Ruth Award. Jackson played for the Oakland Athletics, Baltimore Orioles, California Angels and New York Yankees.
Joe Namath
In 1973, former New York Jets legend Joe Namath made a cameo appearance on the hit sitcom "The Brady Bunch." The episode was called "Mail Order Hero." Namath played himself. In this episode, Bobby lies to his friends by telling them that when Joe Namath is in town he has dinner with his family. To get Joe Namath to come to their house, Cindy tells him that Bobby is sick. Joe Namath also played for the Los Angeles Rams.
