Royal Oak Ballot Questions Explore Use of Recreational Properties
Neighborhood: Royal Oak
Royal Oak, MI 48067
United States of America
If Royal Oak voters wish to preserve their two nine-hole municipal golf courses for recreation, along with Memorial Park, then they should vote "yes" on a trio of ordinances that appear on the crowded ballot for the gubernatorial election on Tuesday, Nov. 2.

If residents believe that possibly selling the properties for housing or commercial development might help the city budget and the local economy, then they should vote "no."

Ordinance 2010-12 would "designate Royal Oak Golf Course (including the nearby driving range and miniature golf course) for continued use as a public recreational facility."

Ordinance 2010-13 would do the same for Normandy Oaks Golf Courss, and Ordinance No. 2010-14 would protect Memorial Park.

Voters in Royal Oak and in any community may obtain a sample ballot at michigan.gov/vote.
