Royal Oak Beaumont Opens New Cardiovascular Clinic

Beaumont Hospital, in Royal Oak near 13 Mile and Woodward, recently opened the Ernst Cardiovascular Center. The center will offer advanced treatment for conditions including heart valve disease, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure, and others. The specialty clinics are geared towards patients with high-risk heart and vascular conditions.

The new center is on the hospital's first floor and includes six examination rooms, three consultation rooms, and two ultrasound rooms. Two programs unique to Beaumont will be offered in the clinics, the "7 tests for $70" heart and vascular screening and the "Healthy Heart Check" for students. The former is rather self-explanatory, it includes seven different tests for an average of $10 each. The later is a screening for high school students, especially athletes, for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a condition that can cause death.
