Royal Oak Crime Watch: June 11 - 18

Mark Vansetti
During the week of Friday June 11 to Friday June 18, there were four reports of auto theft in Royal Oak. A 2002 Ford Focus and a 2001 Dodge Ram were stolen from the front of two homes on the East side of the city. A 2007 Yamaha motorcycle was stolen from a metered spot near the corner of Main and Second Street in the heart of the downtown area. The fourth case was the product of a burglary described below.

There were also two burglaries during the week, again both on the East side of town. One of the would-be burglars was scared off when a occupant of the homes heard the screen being pulled off a door wall and called police. In the other burglary, the thief broke into a home on N. Altedena, stole the key to a 2008 Pontiac G6, and stole the car from the driveway.

The Royal Oak Police arrested 18 people during the same week, five of whom were arrested for disorderly conduct, and four of whom were arrested for driving under the influence.
