"Time," or rather, "Mother Nature," is running out on Royal Oak's popular Culinary Escapes Food Tours.

Throughout the summer, the weekly Saturday soirees through downtown Royal Oak have attracted patrons from across the region and even across the state.

Moderate fall temperatures may make the experience even more enjoyable. A dessert from Gayle's Chocolates, for example, may melt in your mouth and not in your hands.

Gayle's is just one among nine participants. Others include Farmers Market, Superior Fish, Memphis Smoke, Vintner's Cellar, Goldfish Tea, Cafe Muse, Pizza Pasano and Hermann's Bakery.

For a fee of $39, participants receive samples at each location.

Saturday hours are 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. However, as the frost prepares to appear on the pumpkin, the final Saturday (at least until next year) will be Oct. 9.
