Royal Oak Gordon Food Service planning Grand Opening Taste Fest

A Gordon Food Service will be opening in Royal Oak on Sept. 27. The new store will be located on Crooks, just north of 14 Mile Road. To celebrate their opening, they are requesting an agreement with the city commission to hold an outdoor Grand Opening Taste Fest.

According to the company's proposal, the Taste Fest will take place on Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 2 from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day. The event will offer free Gordon Food Service product samples inside a large tent. They are expecting about 1,000 guests to come through over the two days.

There will be no entertainment at the event, besides the food. Once the store is open, its hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
