If there is one thing Royal Oak is known for, it's a variety of good food served in its series of restaurants. And, I am to eat my way right on through them!

For simplicity, nothing beats the Noodles & Company on Main. With a company motto of "Travel the Globe Without Leaving Your Table," theirs is a menu focused on Asian, Mediterranean and American classics - like Wisconsin macaroni and cheese, Japanese pan noodles and zesty Italian dishes. Diners can add chicken, shrimp or other extras for additional charges, and there are luxurious salads, sandwiches and desserts, as well as an array of drinks. It's seat yourself, and staff brings the cooked items to the table for you. Average cost is about $7 for an entree.

Memphis Smoke Smokin' Blues & BBQ is the place to indulge in some Southern good eatin' - barbecue to suit the taste-buds ready for a feast on Main. A "tribute to the traditional down-home music and rich smoked cuisine of Memphis," the restaurant seats quickly and offers live blues entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as for special events. Expect deep-fried pickles, Cajun and Southern mainstays like shrimp, catfish and Jambalaya, a variety of sauces, beans and pulled/smoked meats. Entrees are under $20, with most in the $12 to $15 range.

Lily's Seafood Grill & Brewery on Washington began with the vision of a Scottish grandmother, whose descendants have carried her dreams even further. The menu is varied and fresh, with a combination of foods, and a wonderful selection of what the waters can afford humanity. From the salmon pate to perch picatta and yummy shrimp, this is a restaurant worth the trip. Extras include all-you-can-eat-fish nights, kids-eat-free days, Happy Hour appetizers at Scottish prices, and mug and wine clubs - including a Make Your Own Bloody Mary time on the weekends - and most meals cost below $20. Lily's partakes in community outreach as well, helping those less fortunate with blanket drives and other efforts.

Eat up, gang!
