Royal Oak Police Arrest Robbery Suspects After Dodging Bullets
Neighborhood: Royal Oak
Royal Oak, MI 48067
United States of America
Last Friday, at about 7:45 p.m., Royal Oak Police responded to a report that the Hungry Howies on 11 Mile just west of Campbell was being robbed by armed thieves. After arriving at the scene, it turned out that the nearby Metro PCS store was the actual robbery target and a victim had found refuge at Hungry Howies and dialed 911.

Shortly thereafter, police saw a vehicle driving in the same area without its headlights on. Upon attempting to pull the car over, the driver took off and police pursued. The passengers fired shots at the police while trying to escape. Eventually, one of the officers was able to hit the fleeing suspect's car and brought it to a stop.

One of the suspects was shot by police, but was not seriously injured. The two suspects, one a 51-year-old from Detroit and one a 66-year-old from Ypsilanti, were arrested and are now in police custody.
