Shortly thereafter, police saw a vehicle driving in the same area without its headlights on. Upon attempting to pull the car over, the driver took off and police pursued. The passengers fired shots at the police while trying to escape. Eventually, one of the officers was able to hit the fleeing suspect's car and brought it to a stop.
One of the suspects was shot by police, but was not seriously injured. The two suspects, one a 51-year-old from Detroit and one a 66-year-old from Ypsilanti, were arrested and are now in police custody.
