On September 27th the Royal Oak School District and the Teacher's Union came to a 3 year compromise. They created a 3 year contract that will cover the years of 2009-2012 stating that not only will be there no increase or decrease of their paid wages but there will be changes to their benefits. The contract stated that they will maintain the MESSA choices, increases to their prescription drug coverage can only increase by $40, and the office visits will only increase by $20 for the duration of the contract.

The school district understands the circumstances surrounding the economy and hope to draw in more high quality teachers to their district over the next few years. For more information regarding the contract or to find out more about the current district visit www.royaloakschools.com
