Royal Oak Tour Hosts Hope Rain Will Wait

Organizers of the Royal Oak Woman's Club Home and Garden Tour can cross their fingers for good weather for their event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 26. Forecasts call for scattered thundershowers with temperatures in the middle 80s, but the rain isn't expected until later in the day.

The clubhouse is at 404 South Pleasant, and tickets are $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the event. Participants will see a blend of historic craftsmanship and new construction, from basic bungalows to mini mansions, with seven stops in all.

Sunday's outlook also is hot and sticky, with high temps in the low to middle 80s and a 40 percent chance of thundershowers. Heat and humidity will depart quickly, however, and daytime high temperatures for early in the week are pegged comfortably near the mid-70 degree mark.
