From the beginning the well-manicured lawn and circular drive with at least eight to ten valets to greet us told us we were "special". Before we could stop and turn off the car, one valet along with the bellman was on either side of the car greeting us with a welcoming smile. There was no pesky valet ticket, just a "call us when you need your car". Two doormen greeted us at the door of a lobby that had the appearance of an elegant foyer and formal living area.
The bellman opened the door to our standard room, which was the size of some suites. There was a vanity area with professional lighting for applying makeup and the softest vanity chair. Fluffy robes with slippers were located in the closet alone with an umbrella. Amenities such as lotion, bath crystals, etc., were in elegant bowels and bottles. The soap sat on a matching soap dish. Fresh flowers were in the bath and living area.
Our room opened via French doors to a balcony that overlooked the pool area and patio. The bed linen was Egyptian cotton from Italy (I looked at the tag). A sofa, chair with ottoman, desk with chair and a well-stocked snack bar were in the room with free bottled water.
After settling in we received a call to make sure the room met our satisfaction. Minutes later a young man presented us with a welcome tray with pasties and tea for our enjoyment.
Turndown service accompanied by soft music via the Bose system located next to the bed is performed each night. At this time the breakfast room service menu is presented. Maid service at the Mansion is twice daily.
Breakfast was served in our room with beautiful flowers adorning the food cart. There were no packets of anything to be found, just fine china. The table was set in front of the French doors for atmosphere. It was hard to leave the room to go see the rest of Dallas.
If you want to be treated like royalty-stay at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek located at 2821 Turtle Creek Blvd., Dallas, TX 75219. For reservations call 214.559.2100.
