Island of Lost Hotels

I found myself there for work. I was looking for a hotel and Brooklyn Park seemed as good as any other place. I found myself on an island of lost hotels.

Beer didn't use to be the drink it is now, America's national drink. Before WWII, with the exception of certain ethnic groups, such as Germans, beer was not ingested as much as spirits, mixed drinks.

During the 1930's, the Federal Reserve and U.S. Treasury threw everything against the bad economy then. Nothing much worked. They were "pushing on a string", as the saying went then. They might have tried a nice sit down with noodles and gravy.
