Thousands Turn Out for 33rd Annual Quad City Times Bix 7 Road Race

A field of 15,002 runners and walkers took to the streets of Davenport, Iowa today for the grueling 7-mile race known as the Bix 7. Duncan Kibet of Kenya won the men's division, and Wude Ayalew of Ethiopia won in the women's division.

Dramatic Finish for Police Pursuit in Bettendorf, Iowa

A pursuit involving Bettendorf (Iowa) Police, Scott County Sheriff's Department, and Iowa State Patrol officers ended in downtown Bettendorf when the vehicle driven by suspects left Highway 67 and struck a tree.

Though Not Diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease, I Am Still a Victim

I am a victim of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. No, I haven't been diagnosed with it. On December 26, 1990, around 2:00 AM, my father, Harold Ray Oliver, died from ALS. I was nine years old.
