Day 15 of 2012 LA Marathon Training

Looking at my 15th day of training for the 2012 Los Angeles Marathon with Team to End AIDS. This took place on February 4, 2012, and it was our longest run yet at 20 miles. In addition to sore muscles, we also got quizzed on our knowledge of musicals.

The Marathon Runner's Nightmare

Movies I Look Forward to Seeing in Spring 2012

Crap from the Past: 'Poltergeist III"

My review of the 1988 horror sequel "Poltergeist III" which I found myself watching one day when it was on cable. There's a number of reasons why this film was the one which finally put the nail in this franchise's coffin.

Day 14 of 2012 LA Marathon Training

Looking at my 14th day of training with Team To End AIDS for the 2012 LA Marathon. After running 17 miles last week, we had a recovery run of 10 miles which (at this point in our training) doesn't feel like that big of a deal.

'Haywire' - Steven Soderbergh Teams Up with Gina Carano

'Hugo' - Martin Scorsese Redeems 3D

My review of Martin Scorsese's "Hugo" which stars Asa Butterfield as young orphan who works on fixing a broken down automaton and shares his love of movies with Chloë Grace Moretz. It makes brilliant use of 3D and is Scorsese's love letter to cinema.

'The Adventures of Tintin" - Steven Spielberg Gets Animated

'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy' - John Le Carre's Novel Made for a New Generation

'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' - the David Fincher Version

Reviewing the David Fincher version of "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" which stars Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara. It is neither better or worse than the 2009 Swedish film, but instead a brilliant movie in its own way.

Day 10 of 2012 LA Marathon Training

Today's run had me back from Christmas vacation in Los Angeles for the last run of 2011 with Team To End AIDS. We ran ten miles which wasn't the farthest we've ran, but it turned out to be the toughest so far.

'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' a Thrilling Surprise

My review of the 4th movie in the "Mission: Impossible" franchise which has Tom Cruise returning as Ethan Hunt. It also marks the live action debut of "The Incredibles" director Brad Bird who shot some key scenes in the IMAX format.
