The Ruby Princess is the newest addition to the Princess Cruise Line and she is certainly an exciting addition to the fleet.

With the Ruby Princess the Princess Line have launched many new onboard product initiatives one of these being offering a pub lunch in the Wheelhouse Bar. On other ships the Wheelhouse Bar has been a favorite evening venue but on the Ruby it is also being used at lunchtime where you can dine on foods such as good old fish and chips or cottage pie.

And of course as anyone who has experienced a cruise with the Princess Line knows, dinner is where the chefs shine. This is also very true on the Ruby princess. Dining at the Crown Grill you will be able to watch as chefs prepare top notch sea-food dishes, steaks and more. The kitchen is designed as a theater-style kitchen that has counter seating which look directly into the chef's workspace.

You are able to eat your meal in the privacy of a cozy booth whilst enjoying a glass of one of the 30 vintage wines that are offered.

The Ruby Princess also has the very popular Sabatini's Italian Restaurant which is located on one of the top decks and looks out to sea from the very back of the ship. But Sabatini's on the Ruby does not just serve high-end dinners it also offers a special breakfast to the clients staying in suite category rooms.

The Ruby Princess offers a wide range of passenger activities so it is not difficult to work up an appetite. Amongst the standard activities you will find Gatsby's Casino offering slots, blackjack, roulette and poker tournaments, the full service Lotus Spa and fitness center, four swimming pools and seven whirlpools and many bars and snack stations including an ice-cream sundae bar and poolside pizza joint.

There is also a golf simulator, paddleball, mini-golf and a jogging track at one end of the top levels with big-screen movies and music playing throughout the day at the other end. And of course when the sun goes down bars like Club Fusion and Skywalkers heat up.

So what is different on the Ruby princess? Well, she has brand-new additions especially kid-friendly attractions like the new Wizards Academy Program which has been designed by the California Science Center that explores the scientific processes behind 'magical' occurrences.

Adults haven't been left out and they can enjoy two new production shows whose origins are impressive. For the new "Broadway Ballroom" the choreography and dancers' costumes have been designed by talent from the popular TV show "Dancing with the Stars" and "once upon a Dream" uses new technology called 'multidimensional cinematic projection which creates a surreal dreamlike atmosphere within the theater.

The Suites are spacious with generous balconies. The mini-suites are also large enough to provide a seating area and both have a flat screen TV. There is ample closet space in both and great bathrooms. Those who are staying in the suite category will have access to DVD/CD players and a DVD library, walk in closet and a whirlpool tub.

The Ruby princess sails the Western Caribbean on 7-day itineraries through April 11, then embarks on 12-day Mediterranean or Greek isles cruises through Sept 25. The ship returns to the Caribbean for 10-day sailings that are scheduled to run from 15 October to 29 April 2010.
