" Ruby" on Style Network is a Steal Magnolia that Will Steal Your Heart!!!
Ruby Takes on Her Own Struggles While Taking a Winning Spot in Reality Television
The premise of this show is watching Ruby take on her own demons that brought her to a life of limiting morbid obesity. At her peak weight, Ruby was 716 pounds, currently she is around 350 pounds or less. It has been her goal to tackle this hurdle in her life by addressing her body, mind and spirit without surgery, fad diets, or risky medical interventions. She has come to realize that she must face the "demon' that brought her to that place in order to conquer the problem for a lifetime and maintain her health. Her show appears on Sunday night 8pm/7pm central on the Style Network.
Ruby is surrounded by close friends and family that are loving, supportive and adore her. One of her best friends Jeff is a social worker that is also her roommate. Her young nephew also lives with her. As well, Ruby's best friend Georgia, who is a nurse, is also part of Ruby's circle of friends and family. Ruby is very dedicated to those in her life. A very loving, kind presence. Ruby is very aware of how most of the world discriminates against the morbidly obese but has still managed to find those good people in the world that do not have such a narrow view of others based on appearance. Ruby has this lightness of being about her that just seems to illuminate the room and positively affect those that she encounters. This quality translates well on television. I have grown very fond of Ruby and her journey. She is one of those people that just naturally make you feel good by being in her presence, even if it is via reality television. She is an authentic steel magnolia. When surprised, frustrated or upset, she even resorts to her own version of curse words, such as "helicopter" in place of, well, you get the picture. She refers to her vagina as ' Christmas' for she feels like it is a special package in itself and therefore the gynecologist is what she refers to as the " Christmas doctor". There is a keen wisdom wrapped up with innocence in Ruby's personality, refreshing in this day and time to say the least.
If you have ever seen a clip of the show and thought to yourself, "awww that's just another weight loss show", think again. I sense you will be pleasantly surprised when you encounter Ruby and how she leaves you feeling. I was.

Post a CommentRuby, I think you are wonderful in every way.
I don't mean anything mean by this, but I watched the episode where you asked Denny if he could commit to you, right then and he said no.
Would you have been able to commit to him if he were doing something that wasn't good for him but he was working on it? Like Heroin or Crack? I'm just saying that sometimes when you have seen someone struggle with something you want to know that that person is really in a good place as far as that issue goes.
I was with a man for 4 years, and LOVED him. Half way in I found out about his past issues and it made me afraid. Then I found out that he in fact had gone back to that and I knew that I would never be able to trust that someday he may go back to that again. At anytime.
I think with food, you have a better chance at coming to new terms with how to eat healthy and eat at those special occasions. Don't beat yourself up for enjoying the holidays and happy occasions with your family and frie
I just discovered this show and purchased the entire first season on itunes. I'm looking forward to seeing Ruby's journey through her weight loss and to being inspired to make changes in my own life.
