As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted with a smile. You tell the host or hostess how many are in your party and they seat you accordingly. The restaurant is divided up into two dining areas. The closest dining area is when first walk in, at the bar. The bar seating has tables and booths. They have about half a dozen televisions on playing some sort of sports game. They don't usually sit us in that room because we have my son. This room is more for the couples without children who don't want to be bothered with screaming children. I think it is great that they sit you accordingly because then I don't have to worry that my toddler is going to start crying and disrupt another couple trying to have a nice quiet lunch.
The second dining area is farther back into the restaurant. You walk pass the salad bar to get this dining area. This is where you will find most families with children. The last time I was there, I would have to say that almost every table had a toddler or even a newborn in a stroller. Nobody had to worry that there child was going to the "screamer" or the "crier." It was a much more relaxed atmosphere, even in a room filled with children.
I ordered my son's food right away so he didn't lose his patience. His food came out rather quickly and he was happy. I ordered his meal from their kids menu. I could have picked from pasta marinara, cheeseburger minis, French fries, macaroni and cheese, chicken fingers, steak, and chicken. I also ordered him a delicious vanilla ice cream for desert.
I ordered a cheeseburger for myself it was delicious. You have to make sure that you are specific with what you what on your hamburger or cheeseburger because they will put mustard on it. Trust me; I have learned this the hard way. In the past, I have ordered their pasta dinners. They are very tasty and the portion sizes are huge. I noticed as I walked past the salad bar on my way in that everything looked so fresh and so crisp. They have one staff person working the salad bar. I watched her go back and forth refilling the salad bar the whole time we were there.
If you don't have time to actually sit and eat at the restaurant, you can always use their curbside pick up food service. It is called RubyTueGo. You can go on their website http://www.rubytuesday.com to learn more about this option. You can also go their website to look at the menu, get driving directions, and learn all about their restaurant. Being a busy mom, this take out service is a great way to eat healthier and not have to pick up greasy fast food all the time. You could order a fresh salad to pick up from Ruby Tuesdays too.
When I was there on my last visit, I needed to use this restroom. I had to take my son with me but there was plenty of room for the both of us. I also noticed that their was a changing station if I needed to change my son's diaper. Thankfully, I didn't need to though. Overall, the bathroom was clean. The stalls were stocked with toilet paper and soap dispensers were filled with soap. This was a sign of a good restaurant.
If you are near the Sayville area and want to stop for a quick bite to eat, you can't go wrong with Ruby Tuesday's. The food was fresh, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was conducive to children. I highly recommend this eating experience.
