When you walk into this restaurant you instantly see and feel the Mexican vibe. There are two seating areas and a full service bar. The frozen margaritas are the best in town. My family and extended family has been going here for so long that we watched the ownership change from family member to family member three times now. My husband proposed to me at this restaurant and then we had our wedding reception here that next year. When anyone in my family walks into Ruiz they are greeted by name and told to sit at there normal table. My mother always asks for certain servers she likes. My father has been known to help other Ruiz employees outside of the restaurant with everyday things. The point here is that the family that works at Ruiz will become your family too. These people are what make this restaurant special and so much fun to go to.
Ruiz Mexican Restaurant offers a small peek into the family history of the business on their website under the About Us section. Read about the family and how the company came to be. See who all has owned the restaurant and read about what they have done.
Not only is there a great atmosphere and wonderful people at Ruiz but the food is yummy. A full menu can be seen on the website. If you are going there for the first time I recommend the Create Your Own. You can choose from two or three items and the meal comes with beans and rice. The beans and rice are so good you could make a meal out of just that. My husband recommends the Steak Tampiquena which includes two large thin sliced steaks grilled and marinated served with cheese melted over them and also contains a cheese enchilada, rice, with beans. The children's menu offers soft serve ice cream to kids under 10 free with the purchase of the kid's meal.
This is such a special place in St. Louis. My family hopes to see yours there. Maybe our kids will play the video game together or be up getting some gum from the gum machine at the same time. We are always sitting at the biggest table in the restaurant. Come join the big family at Ruiz and dine on some great food at the same time. Ruiz Mexican Restaurant is located at 901 N US Highway 67, Florissant, Missouri, 63031. Call ahead for events or to check the weekly/nightly specials at 1-314-838-3500.
