Rumi's Kitchen in Sandy Springs, Georgia

I was on a quest recently to find a different restaurant in Georgia and I found it in Rumi's Kitchen in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The minute you drive up to Rumi's Kitchen you feel like a VIP as they offer complimentary Valet parking. The entrance of Rumi's Kitchen looks like a beautifully tailored tent with beautiful silk like curtains.

The moment you walk in you are greeted by helpful and accommodating host. There is beautiful artwork on the walls and hand-blown glass lanterns hanging over the bar area and some tables. When you take a glance further into Rumi's Kitchen you see beautifully constructed benches covered in rich fabrics and backed with soft vibrant pillows. The tables are topped with classic marble and you immediately feel that this place is something special.

The servers are dressed in basic black and there presentation is so professional that you almost forget that this is a public restaurant and not a private club. The marble tables are decked out with beautiful linen napkins so nicely folded that you almost hate to use them. The menus are classic and easy to read. They also offer a separate smaller menu that shows you what all the specials are for the day. Rumi's offers some of the finest Persian food around by owner and head Chef Ali Mesghali who has been in business for over 20 years.

Chef Mesghali tells me that his restaurant is named after one of the most famous well-read poets in the world name Jelaluddin Rumi from Persia. It's said that Rumi's poetry is love which is the soul of the universe that heals all humankind. This love is certainly displayed in the food prepared at Rumi's. You will experience such wonderful dishes as Chinjeh Kabob - marinated cuts of sirloin charbroiled and served on a freshly baked flat bread with a side of Mast Mousir or Joojeh Kabob - various cuts of Cornish hen marinated in a lemon saffron sauce, charbroiled and served on a bed of saffron Basmati rice.

Rumi's is located at 6152 Roswell Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30328 and is opened from Monday through Sunday with lunch beginning at 11:30 and Dinner at 3:00 p.m. until 10 or 11:00 p.m. depending on the day. Rumi's is a perfect location for a Wedding Rehearsal, Anniversary or Birthday party. It's also a wonderful place just to enjoy a romantic night out with that special someone. Bottom-line: Rumi's is a great atmosphere that serves fantastic Persian cuisine in a wonderful Sandy Springs location. Lunch prices range from $6.00 to $14.00 and dinner prices begin at $15.00. Great place for couples or the entire family.
