Rumor or Real? Are Heidi and Spencer Pratt Getting a Divorce?

Ever since the power couple, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt married a little over a year ago, there have been numerous occasions when it was rumored that they were separating. Some people labeled it as a publicity stunt coming from the couple, which many referred to as "Speidi". Others speculated their opinions based on what they read or seen in the media. For all the Heidi and Spencer fans and foes out there, sadly, this time is the real deal.

According to People Magazine, the well known couple, Heidi and Spencer Pratt of the "Hills" reality TV show, filed for divorce on July 30, 2010. The couple, known to many as "Speidi", separated in June of 2010 and have been living in separate places. They were married for a little over a year before the separation occurred.

The couple, who filed for irreconcilable differences, wants this process to be over quickly. Montag's lawyer, Jodeane Farrel, stated to People "The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in an out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce."

Many fans, viewers, and even stars of the Hills felt that Heidi and Spencer splitting up was just another publicity stunt, however, this time, the break up is real. Spencer admitted that he put fame in front of his wife and said and told People "We love each other but I'm a fame whore and I'll never grow out of it. [Heidi] knows that and doesn't want that."

So what does the future hold for this soon to be divorced couple? Heidi Montag recently had 10 different kinds of cosmetic surgeries, and is planning on focusing on acting and singing, while Spencer Pratt is out of a job after Heidi fired him as her manager. Although this couple is often seen disagreeing in the public's eyes, supposedly both Heidi and Spencer are being amicable with one another while finalizing the divorce. Only time will tell what's next to come with Heidi and Spencer.
