I believe that with her refined manners, she also hails from a respected and educated family. She is one kind of girl that parents are proud to have--famous and accomplished.
However, the world's view of Maricar Reyes changed when she became more popular not because of an accomplishment, but because of notoriety. Even if the sex videos were not Maricar's idea, in fact, she was obviously the victim in this case, however, in a country where people openly discredit immorality and yet practice it secretly, Maricar's character and dignity was shred to pieces.
Some people say that Maricar could not bear the shame and humiliation already that she has attempted to commit suicide and yet failed, so she got confined to the hospital. Others say that she and her family went to the United States in order to escape the country's gossip scene. It was also reported that she was supposed to be engaged to be married but that her fiance called off the wedding after the sex video scandal broke out.
Poor girl! Imagine what she and her family had to go through just because of Dr. Hayden Kho's indiscretion! Whether Maricar committed pre-marital sex or immorality with Dr. Kho is beside the point. The girl was in love with her man at the time. But the man turned out to be a voyeur. She trusted him but little did she know that he has a penchant for taping himself in bed with his women. Too bad that Maricar fell in love with him.
Maricar deserves a better life. Too bad that not everyone wants to defend her. Many people have already judged her and think that she is a slut.
