In unrelated animal news, Eyes of an Angel Pet Rescue put out a plea today for three pups, five weeks old who are in dire need of treatment for mange, being housed currently at an animal shelter though they are scheduled to be put to sleep soon. The Miami facility where they were being kept April 12 has ID numbers for the dogs of #A1245466, A1245467, and A1245468.

"We found out about them just a couple of hours ago and have been frantically working on a plan," says the Facebook group's administrator. "They can't go to foster care unless the foster home has no other animals and takes proper precautions."

The puppies will have to be isolated since sarcoptic mange is contagious.

"We found a vet who will take them but we have no idea at this point of the cost," the administrator stated. "They may have to be isolated for up to three weeks, and they will need treatment for the mange, will need their nine-week shots, and treatment for whatever else may arise."

The administrator explained that the group has no time to make the money prior to the rescue.

You can donate on the website or at the chipin link started for the group by their friends at Homeless Pet Advocates.

"We will post updates on costs as soon as we know," the administrator wrote. "If we could find a foster home that could isolate them, the costs would be significantly reduced. We don't have the money to do this on our own."

Eyes of an Angel currently has over 25 dogs in their foster care system and many are being treated for injuries and illnesses as well as routine care.

"We can't just let them die at five weeks old," the administrator writes. "We are going on faith and we know it is the right thing to do."

This sounds like a neat event. Hopefully it will make it 3 years in a row so that it become known as an annual event.
