Runaway Horse - Not Bride - the Problem at Royal Wedding

Catherine Mount-Batten Windsor is Taken for a Ride

Kate Middleton walked the aisle and married her prince this morning in London, refusing to play out Julia Roberts' Runaway Bride role, but a horse in the royal procession did his part to upset the day and steal the show, if that were possible, according to The Telegraph.

Exiting Westminster Abbey and proceeding in carriage to their new life, Catherine Mount-Batten Windsor (Kate Middleton) and her prince charming, Prince William, were startled by a runaway horse that managed to escape the processional.

The horse's rider was unceremoniously dumped within feet from the royal carriage, according to The Telegraph, which provides a picture of the beast in full trot.

Fortunately no one was hurt, including the royal newlyweds. But it does tend to bring Julia Roberts' escape on a horse in Runaway Bride to mind to Americans far and wide.

Catherine Windsor, the new Mrs. Prince William, debuted as a royal today, donning a simple tiara for her wedding ceremony at Westminster Abbey. To see jewels that were fitting for a royal, but at half the price, check out the American jewelry designer Catherine Potgeiter, who has a European background, too, but is currently a California resident.

Catherine Mount-Batten Windsor might be the newest royal on the scene, with a simple taste in jewelry, but it is Catherine Potgeiter who will likely make her mark in the international world faster, outfitting American stars like those on "Dancing" and providing everyday women the chance to look like a royal on a commoner's budget.

For now, Catherine Potgeiter takes second seat to Catherine of England, proving that the bride really is the gem focused on at a wedding -- in spite of a runaway horse.

I'm glad that no one was hurt, including the horse.

    Wow - how embarrassing.
Took a look at ms. Catherine Potgeiter's jewelry and it is amazing! I love the prices too.
