Runaway Prius: Is the Toyota with No Brakes a Serious Threat to Prius Owners?
After a Recent Incident of a Toyota with No Brakes, Should Other Prius Owners Be Worried?
This week we have heard lots of buzz about Toyota's Runaway Prius, and the dangers that are presented by the thought of a Toyota with no brakes. When James Sikes, a Toyota Prius owner, realized that his brakes were not working the other day, he quickly called for help and was able to get out without being hurt. It is a wonderful thing that Sikes didn't get hurt however what does this mean for other Prius owners? Should people be alarmed by the Toyota with no brakes? I am personally concerned because my 16 year old sister drives a Toyota Prius, and while it is dangerous for anyone to drive it seems like, I especially worry about her because she is a fairly new driver and I don't know how she would handle a Runaway Prius situation. It is scary to think of any car that has brakes which fail to work. How would you react if your car wouldn't stop and you were going 80 mph down the interstate? I am not sure what I would do, however I do know that I would probably not be very calm, and I don't know that the end result would be pretty. The problem of the Toyota with no brakes needs to be taken care of immediately so that drivers of this Runaway Prius as well as other car owners can feel safer on the road. Driving is already dangerous, and car wrecks occur every day, but fixing the Toyota with no brakes is just one more way to try to make driving a little bit safer for all. I hope that this problem is addressed soon and Toyota figures out how to handle the Runaway Prius situation before it's too late.
