Before you start this quest there is a required mining level of 15, you can not finish the quest alone with out it. If you do not have the required level they you will have to buy or have a friend mine the ore for you. On the Runescape webpage there is an option of logging into the fourm area, you will want to log in there and check the prices of the ores before you buy. If you want the quest items fast and no one seems to be selling just offer 1,000 gold per ore.

In order to start this quest you will need to travel to Doric's house. His house is located just north west of Falador. There is a path leading from outside of the city right to his house. He will be very happy to let you use his anvils for your own smithing needs if you would run a short errand for him. He will ask you to get him six clay, four copper ore and two iron ore. If you do not have a pickaxe on you or in your bank Doric will give you one. If he won't give you one then you can pick one up from a spawn in the barbarian village. To get there just head out and take the eastern path until you enter the village. You can search the buildings for a pickaxe there. If you are confident that you can kill a dwarf then you can also keep killing them until one drops a bronze pickaxe.

Now that you have a pickaxe in your inventory you can now make your way over to one of Runescape's best mining pits, The Dwarven Mines. This mine is located on top of a hill just north east of Falador. You should see lots of Dwarfs wondering in and around the buildings. Once you get to the other side of the buildings you will find a trap door. If the trap door is not open you will have to open it before climbing down. Once you climb down the trap door you will want to head south, you are looking for rocks to mine. The rocks that you mine will have little veins going down them if you are not sure what is inside of the rock you can use the option by right clicking. The option you want should be called "Prospect rock", this will tell you what is inside of the rock before you mine it. You will want to click on the rock to mine it, you do not have to have your pickaxe equipped in order to mine the rocks. You will first find some iron and some copper rocks. Then you will mine two Iron ore and four copper ore from the rocks. Check your inventory and count the rocks to make sure that you have the right number. If you need another repeat the mining process until you have the correct number of each kind of ore. Then continue on south until you find some clay rocks. You will need to mine the rocks six times in order to get the six pieces of clay. You do not have to add any water to your clay because he doesn't want soft clay.

Now that you have your four copper ore, two iron ore and six pieces of dry clay in your inventory you will want to leave the mine. Get back to Doric's house and give him all of the ores. Now that you have finished the quest you will be rewarded with one quest point, 180 coins, and 1,300 mining experience points. Congratulations on finishing Doric's Quest you can use his anvils for any of your smithing needs.

  • Talk to Doric to start his quest.
  • Mine the three types of ore for him, six clay, four copper and two iron.
  • Return with the items and give them to Doric to finish the quest.
Doric's house has two anvils in it, which are the two closest anvils to a furnace.
