Runescape: A Guide to Imp Catcher, a Free to Play Quest

Pennya
There are a couple of ways people like to complete this quest. You can collect all the items you will need before starting the quest so there is no need to travel all the way down to wizard's tower two times. Now you are going to be killing imps, they are level two red devilish looking characters. What you are looking for is four different beads, a black bead, a white bead, a yellow bed and a red bead. These imps have stolen them from one of the wizards at the tower and its your job to return them to their rightful owner. Since imps are only level two you don't really have to worry about wearing any sort of heavy armor to fight them. You will need to be as light as possible to fight them because once you attack them they have the ability to teleport away from you.

If you put yourself on the run option you should be able to catch up with them fairly quickly. You will start running after them as soon as they teleport. You will be hunting these in three possible places, there is a spawn of them in Varrock, south of the western bank. Then there is a spawn of them on the Island of Karamja near the volcano, but that's pretty far out of anyone's way. You will also need to bring fare for the boat rides to and from the Island of Karmja. The easiest place to kill the imps is outside of the southern wall of Falador. There is a highway man that you will have to look out for if you are lower leveled, just run away from him and he will stop trying to attack. The general rule on aggression is that it will stop once you are twice the monsters level, so if you are past level ten you probably won't have to worry about him attack you.

Another way to complete the quest is to go over to a crowded world and simply buy the beads from other players. Most people will spend 100 gold coins up to 1,000 gold coins per bead. Some people argue that buying them ruins the fun of the quest, but it is a popular idea since the beads are tradable. Remember that you will only need one bead of each color to finish the quest. Since they are tradable you can also ask your friends to help you do this quest.

Now the imps do drop a lot of pretty useless things. They will not drop the beads right away so you will have to take a good amount of time searching for these things. Imps can drop ashes, burnt meat, cooked meat, bread, bread dough, buckets, buckets of water, ball of wool, cadava berries, clay, grain, a pot, a potion for curing spots, a jug, shears, water elemental talismans, mind talisman, a wizard's blue hat, egg, flour, hammer, tinder box, and a few other seemingly unrelated objects. Many players just kill the imps for fun so they will leave the beads and other loot on the ground for you. When you have gathered all four beads you will learn from Wizard Mizgog, the beads owner that another wizard had summoned these terrible little imps and they have been stealing many items from the tower. Return the magic beads to him to end the quest and receive the reward. As a reward you will get an additional quest point to up your total amount of points. Also you will receive 875 magic experience points, and an amulet of accuracy. Wearing the enchanted amulet around your neck will give you plus four accuracy when you are fighting.
