Runescape: A Guide to Vampire Slayer, a Free to Play Quest

This quest has to do with saving the people who live in a small village called Draynor they are terrified of being attacked by a vampire who has been preying on them. Many of them are looking for someone to save them from this horrible creature who is rumored to be living in the haunted manor just north of the village. If you want to save them you will have to be able to defeat a level 34 Vampire and have a good set of armor and weapon. To start the quest you will have to talk to Morgan of Draynor where he will relate to you the details of the village's attacker. He will ask you to go find his friend Doctor Harlow because he knows how you can kill this beast. The Doctor is hanging out at a local bar. Now before you leave the village you will want to go upstairs in Morgan's house and search the cupboard that is on the wall for a clove of Garlic.

To search the cupboard just click on it to open and then right click to select "search cupboard". Check your inventory to make sure that you have gained the item before moving on. You will need this piece of garlic to defeat the vampire. You know that vampire's hate garlic? Well apparently they do! It has to do with the smell most people believe that garlic acts as an anti vampire. One common theory out there is that vampire's are seen as a symbol of mosquito bites and since garlic is known as a type of natural mosquito repellent of course it would have to repel these horrible creatures. Now you will need to head to Varrock you will want to stop by one of the city's banks for a few gold coins before you get to the bar. If you head south of the city's center you will find the bar which is called the "Blue Moon Inn". Talk to the Doctor and get him a beer or two whenever he asks for one, he should give you a stake to kill the vampire with before you leave.

Now you will need to prepare yourself to fight the Vampire you will need your armor, weapon, food, garlic and stake in your inventory. Next you will go to the Draynor Manor. Enter through the front door and go downstairs. You will find a coffin there, just click on it and it will open up. The vampire will start attacking you. Fight with him until there is just a red bar over him the stake should stab him and you will be finished with the quest. If he is not dead try stabbing him with it by using it on him or using the garlic with the Vampire. If this doesn't work you can return later with a hammer and use the hammer to drive the stake into his heart. Of course if you leave you will have to take all of his hit points away again by attacking him. In most cases you do not need to use the hammer. I have yet to hear of a case of someone needing it so most players choose not to bring one.

Congratulations on killing the Vampire, you Vampire slayer you! You will be rewarded with three quest points and 4825 Attack experience points. To leave the manor you can either teleport out or take the side door out and walk out of the area. It is impossible to leave using the front door, many player's get stuck in the manor until someone can show them the way out. Of course this just adds to the spookiness of the entire quest.
