RuneScape: the Lumbridge Achievement Diary Guide, Medium Tasks

David Farrell
The Lumbridge Achievement Diary is the only achievement diary available to F2P RuneScape players, and unlike the other RuneScape achievement diaries, the Lumbridge Achievement Diary has beginner tasks but no hard tasks. By clicking on the green star tab above your inventory you can view the achievement diaries available and view each set of achievement diary tasks by simply clicking on the text. The Lumbridge Achievement Diary has a guide for each task on the beginner and easy task lists. There is no guide to the medium tasks, just an Achievement Diary task listing. So here is a guide for the Lumbridge Achievement Diary Medium tasks.

You start the Lumbridge Achievement diary by talking to Explorer Jack. He can be found in the house north of Lumbridge Castle marked by a green star.

To complete the medium tasks in the Lumbridge Achievement Diary, you will need the following RuneScape levels:

Level 40 RuneScape Cooking
Level 36 RuneScape Smithing
Level 31 RuneScape Magic
Level 30 RuneScape Firemaking
Level 30 RuneScape Woodcutting
Level 30 RuneScape Fishing
Level 30 RuneScape Mining
Level 16 RuneScape Crafting
Level 5 RuneScape Runecrafting
33 RuneScape Quest Points
Good combat is very helpful

To complete the Medium tasks of the Lumbridge Achievement Diary, you will need to have on hand the following items:

One law rune, three air runes, one earth rune, any hatchet, a tinderbox, some raw lobsters, a fly fishing rod, some feathers, a pickaxe, a holy mould, two steel bars, and a hammer. (Bring additional feathers in case you catch a trout and additional lobsters in case you burn the first few. Do not bring any of these RuneScape items in noted form.)

Head east through the gates of Lumbridge Castle and chop a willow tree.

Take the willow logs atop the gatehouse of the Lumbridge Castle. Climb up either tower to the top floor and light the fire. If you forgot your pickaxe, take a bronze pickaxe now.

Climb down and enter Lumbridge castle. The range is on the first floor. Cook the lobster.

Climb the stairs and talk to Duke Horacio about an Anti-dragon shield. If you have one in your bank already, you still complete the task when he denies you the shield.

Go outside; head east across the bridge and north to the fishing spot by the river. Fish until you catch a salmon.

Head east to the Al Kharid gate and cross through (paying 10 coins if you haven't done Prince Ali Rescue Quest) and head northeast to the mine. Go past the level 14 scorpions and mine a silver rock. Eat the lobster if necessary to avoid dying.

Teleport to Lumbridge. Do not use the Lumbridge home teleport but rather the one that uses runes.

Head north and smelt the silver in the furnace. Then make a Holy Symbol.

Go northwest to where the cows are and kill two cows. You can pick two grain and make flour but the cows are faster. Talk to Beefy Bill and have him bank your beef or cowhides. He will keep one and bank the other.

Head west to the Draynor jailhouse and go down into the dungeon. Make a Steel Longsword at the anvil in the northern room.

At some point you will have to mine some coal from the mine in the southwest corner of the Lumbridge swamp. Hopefully you already mined it while doing your easy tasks. If not, you have to go out of your way to do the task.

The Lumbridge Achievement Diary is complete. Go talk to Ned in Draynor Village for your reward. He gives you an antique lamp that grants 1,500 experience to a skill of your choice (level 35 or higher) and upgrades your explorer's ring to give a third run energy charge daily in addition to the existing benefits. Most importantly, you get an unlimited number of teleports to the cabbage patch north of Port Sarim. At first it seems out of the way, but you will find the free teleports very useful for cutting travel time.
