Runescape Money Making Guide Through Resource Gathering

Money making on Runescape is a often tough and boring thing to do. Therefore, we want to make money making as efficient as possible. In this article, let's look at the resource gathering skill that will allow you to make money. This guide is more tilted towards a f2p side.

Woodcutting

Woodcutting is an extremely profitable and relatively easy skill to train. Start off by obtaining an iron hatchet, since it is the best hatchet you can use at level one. Go behind the Lumbridge Castle, or east of Draynor. There will be many trees there, which you can chop. You will get logs, which are worth 61 gp each on the GE. Each log gives you 25 exp so you should level pretty quickly. You can bank your logs at the Draynor Bank. Don't forget to upgrade your hatchet as soon as you can. You should have made about 5.8k once you get to level 15. Once you get to level 15 you can start chopping oaks. Oaks are worth 73 gp on the GE and give 37.5 exp per log. Oak trees may also provide you with more than one log. Oaks are a great step up from normal trees. Oaks are found everywhere where normal trees can be found. Once you get to level 30 you should have made 21k from oaks. Now that you get to level 30 the money slows down a little bit, however, you'll level up much faster. At level 30 you can chop willows, which don't sell for a lot, you're better off just selling it at a general store or burning it. The exp from a willow log is 67.5 so great exp. If your p2p you can chop maples at level 45 for faster exp. Maples aren't worth a lot either so you should burn them. I recommend chopping maples at level 50 so you can chop them faster. P2p can also use sacred clay hatchets for more exp. Once you get to level 80 that's when the money starts to come. You can now chop yews at a decent rate. Yews sell for 498 gp on the GE! In addition, provide you with 175 exp per log! If your f2p you will need to chop, about 63k logs to get to level 99; If you sell all those logs that would give you 31 mil!

Fishing

Fishing is a skill that is slightly harder to train than woodcutting but yields a slightly larger reward. Start of by fishing shrimp using a small fishing net. One shrimp is worth 35 gp and give you 10 fishing exp. You will have fished 8.7k worth of shrimp by the time you get to level 15. At level 15 you can fish anchovies. I recommend cooking them and then selling them, as they are worth slightly more. One anchovy provides you with 40 fishing exp and 30 cooking exp. Fishing anchovies until level 20. You would have fished 2.7k worth of anchovies, assuming each anchovy sells for 44 gp. You can fish anchovies and shrimp just south of Draynor bank. Once you get 20 fishing, get a fly fishing rod and some feathers. Go to barbarian village and fish some trout there; bank at Orville just north of the fishing area. Trout is only worth 39 each and gives 50 exp and you'll only make about 5.3k until level 30. Once you get to level 30 you can fish salmon with trout. Salmon is worth 89 gp each and gives 70 exp each. You should fish salmon and trout until level 40. The amount of money you make varies. Once you hit level 40 get a lobster pot and head over to Karamja. Lobsters give 90 exp each and are worth 297 gp each. You can bank at the Entrana Monk bank chest, or convert them noted lobsters at stiles just south-west of the dock. It is recommended that you fish lobsters until level 99; if you do, you can make 42.9 mil!

Mining

Mining is extremely tedious and boring. It's rewards however are highly respectable even more than fishing and woodcutting! Start of by getting an iron pickaxe and start mining some copper, remember to upgrade your pickaxe as soon as you can. It gives 17.5 exp per rock and is worth 108 gp each! Alternatively, if you've complete rune mysteries, mine rune essence they are 67 gp each and you mine them fast, however, they are only give 5 exp each. I recommend rune essence money wise but copper ore exp wise. If you mine copper ore until level 15 you would have earned about 15.5k! If you mine rune essence you can make 32.7k! Great money for beginners! At level 15 I recommend mining iron until level 60. Iron ore gives 30 exp per rock and are worth 264 each, always bank ores for maximum profit. Once you hit level 60 you would have made about 2.7 mil! Once you are at level 60 the mining guild is unlocked for you. In there you will find masses of coal, it's a heaven for miners. The bank is right there and mining resources are everywhere. If you stick here until level 99 you would have made 62.9 mil, Amazing!

If you play an average of 20 hours a week (the average amount of time a runescaper plays Runescape), it should take you about 1 year to make the total of 98.8 mil. There is no doubt you will make a lot of money, it just takes hard work and determination, Good Luck!
