RuneScape Online Game Review

RuneScape is labeled as a massive online 3d multiplayer adventure game, with monsters to destroy, quests to complete, and much treasure to win. Membership dues are $5 a month but there is also a free play version available with limited features. There is a small amount of quests available while playing in free game mode while paying members have features and quests available to them. The game has approximately 8.5 million active accounts and is recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's most popular free MMORPG. RuneScape has a tutorial mode in which characters are led on a set path where they learn the most basic skills. After the tutorial, players have access to tutors located in the towns they explore.

You control your own character who will improve and become more powerful the more you play. RuneScape's graphics have been improved with the introduction of RuneScape High Detail. The clicking to walk everywhere could get quite gets annoying, but soon you stop noticing after a while. RuneScape isn't a game for those who love magnificent graphics and sounds, but in my opinion that isn't what makes a game fun to play. RuneScape features a real-time online combat system. Combat is an important aspect of the game. It allows players to retrieve items like gold dropped by defeated enemies, creatures or other common players.

The best thing about RuneScape is that it's browser based so you don't have to do any downloading. especially when there's an update readily available. Skills make up another scope of RuneScape, but requires much needed time to level up as opposed to combat. As the skill level rises, the ability to retrieve better raw materials and produce better products increases, as does the experience awarded if the player utilizes these new abilities.

Increasing your skills, though time consuming, can have very profitable rewards at higher levels. You can gain up to level 99 on a skill but it will take a lot of your time and much patience to achieve this. The combat system is heavily weighted on the items that you have. Certain characters are only good at melee. So you can fight with magic, as melee can kill archers, archers kill mages and so on. Overall, this is a great game that can take up most of the weekend or life if you let it. Hopefully your girlfriend or spouse won't leave you while your enjoying the magnificent game play. Enjoy!

The Good:
-Decent mini games included
-Large world
-Lots of items available to customize your character

-Huge community of online players
-The skills to master is impeccable
-Graphics are nice
-BGM is not bad

The Bad:-Sound effects need work
-Months of leveling required to become a notable character
-Free play becomes intolerable after a short while
-Combat could be better
-Community is usually unkind
