RuneScape: Ring of Kinship Upgrade for Melee, Tank Class

David Farrell
RuneScape players upgrading Ring of Kinship in Dungeoneering will have tank as one of twelve separate options, three classes under each of four groupings. This article focuses on the tank class of the melee grouping, see upgrading Ring of Kinship main disambiguation for other guides related to the ability to upgrade the ring of kinship.

See Ring of Kinship upgrades main hub page for easy access links to guides for the remaining eleven classes.

RuneScape players need an increasing number of tokens to upgrade each tier yet receive only the same boost as the last tier upgrade. Because the tokens needed to upgrade the ring of kinship to tier ten require over three million Dungeoneering experience just to get, RuneScape players must make the call between what is worthwhile and what is unnecessary.

The tank class starts out at tier one with a 6% reduction in damage taken when the RuneScape player is wielding a shield. This will increase by 1% every tier, reaching 13% at tier eight and maxing at 15% at tier ten.

Is tank worthwhile? Only one class can be activated at a time, so RuneScape players have the option to destroy the opposition faster with a powered offense verses having better defense but often taking an extra hit because the monster wasn't killed quickly. Because RuneScape players get a better jump for the offensive stats, tank might not be that great an option, but tier one with 6% reduction for only 135 tokens isn't bad. Players who need to take damage for the team will find tank very useful.
