It hurts when you can't be with
the person your heart desires
and even more so when you can not
have the courage to uncross wires
Let alone that he's someone else's man
forbidden, to you, you're told
but, when everything is not okay
Most days feel empty and cold
Searching for the courage,
when you finally get the chance,
you waste it like an idiot,
only taking a longing glance
But you can think of nothing else
wanting so bad to say
I love you, or, I'm sorry, or
can everything just be okay?
Why are you so scared?
The hurt's already been done
Why do you ask God for a chance
and then turn around and run?
