The South Carolina Trail Runners club is based in Aiken, S.C. but accepts runners from other surrounding areas of the Upstate. The runs they sponsor are a series of 4 events that are held throughout the state of South Carolina over the course of a year. These events are low key and your only goal is to get across the finish line. These are also no nonsense, no frills runs, but the upside of that is you aren't charged the hefty entry fees that a lot of clubs tack onto their events. For the runs sponsored by the South Carolina Trails Runners Association there are no entry fees, however they do accept donations. A couple of their upcoming events would be the Fats Forty , which takes place Sunday ,October 4th at 7:30 A.M. and the Chattooga river 5K run which takes place on Sunday, June 7th at 8 A.M. Visit their website for more information on these and other runs they will be sponsoring throughout the year.
