Fashionistas know that the fashions found in clothing stores and boutiques are not exactly the same styles that are shown on the runway. Runway looks tend to be a bit more daring and abstract. However, if you are interested in created a runway look with the clothes that you have in your wardrobe it is possible. The key is to find runway styles that are appropriate for your lifestyle and to create outfits that emulate these styles.

Creating Drama

Drama seems to be the core theme for the 2009-2010 fall/winter fashion season. You can create several different dramatic looks with your wardrobe. The first thing that you will need is a pair of thigh high leather boots. These boots will add an edge to any outfit that you want to pull together. Runway looks that you can create with these boots will include pairing them with a military style jacket, a long and chunky knit sweater and soft and flouncey fantasy dresses.

Drama can also be created in your wardrobe by utilizing daring clothing options. This season leather is super hot. You can create a very dramatic outfit using only leather pieces. You can also add drama to an outfit by wearing a shirt with a high leather collar. See-through clothing options are also hot for fall and winter runway looks. However, be careful with how you use these see through items. While skin is in, you don't want to show too much. This year focus on small peek-a-boo portals to your figure at strategic points like your collar bone, your waist and your legs.

Color Is Key in 2009/2010

Color choices are going to be key to creating runway looks this fall and winter fashion season. A good place to start is with black. This season black is back in all of its shades, hues and transparencies. Burgundy is another hot color this season. You can use this rich color as an accent or as the primary color for your wardrobe.

Texture

When you are putting together a runway look it is important to think about texture. Texture infusions are what usually separate runway looks from everyday looks. To create a fall/winter runway look this season think about texture dichotomies like smooth and rough, soft and hard, leather and lace. Also think romantic textures, as romance and gothic drama are huge this year. Finally, make sure you layer your textures to create the most drama possible with your runway looks.
