Rush Limbaugh Marries Kathryn Rogers

Rush Limbaugh hopes the fourth time will be the charm as he weds 33-year-old south Florida party planner Kathryn Rogers, 33, this weekend in a secretive ceremony in Palm Beach.

Rush, 59, has dated Rogers since 2004. 2004 was also the year Limbaugh and third wife, Marta, divorced. Rogers was by his side earlier this year when he suffered a mild heart attack. She is reported to be a direct descendant of founding father John Adams - maybe this is part of her attraction for Rush?

Didn't know about Rush and Kathryn? Don't feel bad - Rush is known for being secretive about his romantic liaisons, understandably since his first three ended unsuccessfully and since his every move is closely monitored due to his great success as a talk show host. In an email to the Palm Beach Post, Limbaugh wrote: "We do NOT seek media attention, we do not want it, especially for this. It is very special, obviously, and we just don't want any media attention." Indeed, in announcing an absence from his talk show (now known to be due to his wedding), he talked of adding a puppy to his household. The wedding is no last-minute affair, however: invitations went out to close friends and family in February, and Rogers has been wearing a large ring for over a year.

Kathryn has reported been a positive influence on Rush, encouraging him to lose weight (in fact, he has lost over 100 pounds in the last year). Her reportedly "gentle, old-society manners" are a contrast to Limbaugh's bombastic on-air style.

Although I'm a conservative and enjoy listening to Rush, I have to admit to being a bit nonplussed at his romantic antics. What's wrong with a guy choosing a woman his own age? Ah, but I suppose power and money must have their rewards, and in this case, that reward is a young blonde trophy wife.
