Rush Limbaugh Reads My Article Live, on the Air on 12-21-10. Going Viral Rocks!

It came as a surprise. On Wednesday morning I signed in to AC as usual. As my "account" page opened the graph showing page views was almost vertical in it's upward journey. I gasped, choked on my coffee and puzzled as surely there was a mistake and I secretly hoped the powers that be would not catch the error and I would FINALLY experience some success as an amateur pundit.

I clicked on my "content" and scrolled down a bit and there it was - "Communist Party USA Reveals: We're Using The Democrat Party." The article was written and published on December 2, 2010. On Monday, the 20th, the article got 1 page view, for a total of 106 PV's from it's publishing on the 2nd through the 20th. Hey, don't make fun of me...I never held out myself, manner or meter as the successful formula for AC success.

But on Tuesday the 21st the article got 4754 PV's overnight. I was gobsmacked for sure. The next day the article picked up another 2849 PV's. "What gives," I thought to myself? I figured someone read it, liked it and linked to it from some major conservative sight and I picked up the PV's in that manner, and that is sorta what happened, only better.

My daughter told me to google the title and I did and lo and behold there were pages and pages of my title listed - Free Republic was one of dozens and dozens of sites that had excerpts from the article and a link to AC. Then I saw Rush Limbaugh's name connected to it and I began to dance in my chair...just a bit mind you, but still. I did a second google search, this time adding a "+" sign and Rush Limbaugh and the first result was a link directly to Rush Limbaugh's site and a reference to his "Stack of stuff quick hits page" I clicked it, my fingers shaking, my smile and anticipation turning to sheer joy.

The first article Rush deemed important enough to include in his stack of stuff was mine! I was beside myself with joy. According to the transcript Rush had read numerous excerpts from my article on the air on Tuesday, the 21st. Then my memory kicked in and now I actually remember hearing him reading it, as of course I listen to his show faithfully. But on Tuesday afternoon I was sleepy and listening to Rush as I drifted in and out of minor cat napping. I heard him mention the topic and my title but I figured he was sourcing the original article as I did to compose the article.

I never dreamed he was reading my article and in my sleep deprived state I noted him talking about what I'd written almost three weeks prior, but again, just thought he was talking about the original source in a New Zealand article where the commie mouthpiece from the Communist Party USA article was bragging during an interview at how the Communist Party USA were using the Democrat Party to achieve their ends in the US.

So there's the back story. Please indulge me long enough to brag a bit.

For those who do not know, Rush has a "Stack of Stuff" everyday, for every show. In it are articles, facts, etc., that he and his staff have found that he wishes to highlight on his nationally syndicated, top rated radio show. Not only is it a singular distinction to make it to the "Stack of Stuff," but it's an honor to make it to his post-show roundup that he then calls his "Quick Hits" which are highlights of that day's broadcast. Most things in his "Stack of Stuff" do not even make it to the airwaves, much less be featured on the "Quick Hits" highlighted and then placed on his website.

Now allow my last and loudest toot on my horn...not only did Rush deem my work good enough, important enough - whatever - to be on his show and read, highlighted and commented upon by him, but it made it not only to the Quick Hits category, but did so THREE WEEKS after I wrote it! That means he hung onto it for weeks, considering it important enough to be highlighted when he could finally get around to it. That he chose to highlight and discuss my work is an honor; that he chose to keep my article three weeks and not throw it in the trash can due to lack of broadcast time is another honor.

But especially, that he read it and commented upon it on his last live broadcast of 2010 before he took his vacation until 2011, is the real deal in my mind. And then he placed it at the top of his "Quick Hits" stack.

I am sorry to sound so boastful but golly folks, me and AC success are not well acquainted. I am tickled pink. I wanted to share this with my friends and supporters to whom I owe all of this, for many times I wanted to toss in the towel and say "Heck, I am no good, too controversial, always arguing with detractors,etc." but I did not want to leave my friends, so I stuck it out.

So to my friends and supporters, thank you from the bottom of my old, black heart. Your unwavering hanging with me is the reason I did not leave and go to Examiner as the Examiner staff kept trying to entice me to do. I stayed at AC out of loyalty to my friends and will continue to do so. However I will confess this has given me the confidence to open my own blog which I will be informing my reader's of when the time comes. I will continue to publish here on AC as I always publish non-exclusive and will continue.

Honestly though, thanks to you folks. I do this because I have something to say about which I feel tremendous passion. To those I have been hard on, know it's my passion seeping in, perhaps a bit too much. Love to you as well. And to my friends, and you know who you are - poor bastards - thank you all. The support, kind words and encouragement are heart-warming.
