Rush Limbaugh "Retard" Comments Are Making Sarah Palin a Hypocrite

Former Governor Has yet to Call for Radio Personality to Be Taken Off the Air

Roy A. Barnes
The Rush Limbaugh "retard" remarks uttered on his program on Wednesday, according to The New York Daily News, have yet to have Sarah Palin calling for his ouster. These Rush Limbaugh "retard" remarks did get a statement from Sarah Palin spokesperson Meg Stapleton, according to Politico, with this position: "Gov. Palin believes crude and demeaning name-calling at the expense of others is disrespectful", but even that is being disputed as to whether she really meant that for the radio host. The Rush Limbaugh "retard" remarks he uttered Wednesday included more than one reference to the demeaning word. He said two controversial things. They are, "Our political correct society is acting like some giant insults taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards" and "I think their big news is he's out there calling Obama's number one supporters f'ing retards. So now there's going to be a meeting. There's going to be a retard summit at the White House".

Rush Limbaugh "Retard" Remarks: Sarah Palin Is a Hypocrite for Not Calling for the Radio Host to be Removed from the Air

Why didn't Sarah Palin call for Rush Limbaugh to be fired over his utterances on her Facebook page? She immediately did so when light came of Rahm Emanuel's "f-bomb retarded" remark. I discuss Emanuel's remark here at this Associated Content article. Instead of getting reactions through spokespeople, she needs to go on Facebook and address this issue on a conservative, Rush Limbaugh, since she had no problem doing so with Rahm Emmanuel, who is a liberal, and whom she called to be fired. Furthermore, what's good for the goose is good for the gander as Sarah Palin needs to call for the conservative radio host to be taken off the air over the Rush Limbaugh "retard" remarks.

Until she does this, Sarah Palin is quite simply, a hypocrite. It's fine and dandy for Rush Limbaugh "retard" remarks to be uttered by the radio host without the former governor and current FOX News contributor calling for Limbaugh's firing, but if a liberal says "retard" or "retarded", it's off with his or her head in the partisan mind of Sarah Palin to this point.

Rush Limbaugh "Retard" Remarks: Is The Conservative Hack Made of Teflon?

Why does Rush Limbaugh constantly get a "no fire pass" for his crude and insensitive remarks? Is he made of Teflon? Is there anything this right wing political hack can't say that will get him into real trouble, get him thrown off the air for good? For right now, Sarah Palin only cares about disabled people being demeaned when it's a liberal doing the demeaning. When it's a conservative who demeans disabled people, where is Palin to be found calling for their firings on either Facebook or through the utterances of her partisan pie hole?

Wait, something Rahm said in a private meeting that then got spread around should be held to a higher standard that something Rush intentionally said to his millions of (deluded) listeners? Rush Limbaugh has shown himself to be an arrogant, uncaring, loud-mouthed hack over the years, and that is the only reason he is held to a lower standard: his supporters already know he's an idiot, so they don't care when he shows it. Look, I use the "R" word in a colloquial sense like they both did, and I agree it's sometimes taken too heavily. However, if you're going to yell at one, you have to yell at the other.

Although I'm in agreement with Rush in terms of political correctness on using that word, there's a huge difference between Rahm and Rush and I see no problem with Sarah Palin calling Rahm out on this and not directly going after Rush. Rahm is the Chief of Staff in the White House. I think everyone would agree those in the White House should be held to a higher standard than someone who is on the radio. If all the readers, and the author of this are giving Rush Limbaugh the same scrutiny and holding him to the same standards they hold Rahm Emanuel, your priorities are screwed up. Is it hypocritical of Sarah to not expect the same out of Rush? Sure.. is she going to spend her days calling out every radio host and talk show host and tv show host that says something to offend her? She has better things to do, and her eye where it needs to be - on the top people representing and making decisions for our country.

Excellent point Roy. Maybe he should have softened the statement by referring to them as mentally challenged. It would have made him less durable then Teflon.

There's alot of Teflon in the world these days! Cheers.

"Our political correct society is acting like some giant insults taken place by calling a bunch of people who are retards, retards."

What that would suggest to me is that he's going beyond quoting Rahm. He's essentially saying that the use of the word is being taken too heavily. That directly clashes with what Palin said of Rahm when he did it, and she's a hypocrite for not calling him out.

How bout the song let's get retarded? what happened to that? Rush was only talking about what Emanuel said. That is it. If anyone is controversial it is our media and liberal politics that seem to care so much about mentally disabled people but would call them retarded.
