Rush Limbaugh Says "No Need to Panic Over Gulf Oil Spill, Ocean Will Take Care of Itself."

Paper Towels and Dawn Can Fix It.

Even though as much as 230,000 gallons of oil every day have been spilling into the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Louisiana for the past few weeks, perhaps about to cause the greatest major ecological and economical disaster in history, and 11 rig workers have been killed, talk show host Rush Limbaugh has told his audience, "No need to panic."

Despite many of the states surrounding the Gulf of Mexico declaring a state of emergency because of the severe ecological and economic catastrophes ahead, "El Rushmore"(who refers to himself as "talent on loan from God") is not worried.

It seems some tourists are having second thoughts about visiting Gulf beaches. Already some fishing along the gulf has been suspended. The tourism industry could be devastated....no seafood, no fishing, no shrimpers, dead and dying sea life and oil covered beaches. The oyster season is probably lost. The area supplies 35% of the nation's seafood.

But Limbaugh is trying to convince his ditto head followers that the oil pouring into the gulf from the well drilled by British Petroleum Products and leaking since April 20, will break up naturally and sink to the bottom of the sea. The gulf will take care of itself.

He points to the restoration of Alaska's Prince William Sound, nearly devastated by the Valdez Exxon oil spill 21 years ago. All it took was wiping off the rocks and wild life with some paper towels and Dawn detergent. He says the area is pristine now.

Alaskan government environment officials disagree. They say Prince William Sound is far from pristine. The herring industry is over. Despite the beautiful scenery some oil remains buried at the bottom of the sea and is still toxic after 21 years. The oil naturally sunk to the bottom.

Limbaugh also says the media is making the oil spill into a Hollywood disaster movie. He fluctuates between blaming President Obama for using the spill as propaganda for government interference, and showing up at the scene incompetent and late.

He also suggests that some "eco- nazis" may have deliberately blown up the oil well to prevent off shore drilling.

Whatever the outcome, the oil is still gushing into the Gulf as authorities try to stop it. If it gets into the Gulf Stream and flows down by the Florida Keys spreading into Florida's southern Atlantic coastline, Mr. Limbaugh's 26,000 sq ft. oceanfront mansion just may be affected.

But not to worry. His beach will be OK in 21 years and until then, no one needs to see El Rushmore in his bathing suit.

In the long term, the oil will break down, eventually. Dealing with the damage until then is the problem.

Rush Limbaugh is a complete moron. He should shut his mouth up. Of course, he'll continue to peddle his nonsense. Excellent article.
