Rushing Waters Fishery is outside of Palmyra, Wisconsin. It is the largest trout farm in Wisconsin. It spreads across 80 acres with 56 ponds and raceways fed from Artesian springs water. The water is maintained at 49 degrees year round for the freshest-tasting trout, leaving you satisfied with every catch.

Rushing Waters offers year-round fishing. There is no fishing licensed required which make it nice for the occasional fisher or making it affordable to bring the whole family regardless of age. They only offer one pond that you can fish out of, but I promise, you will catch all your heart desires quickly! For the first time fisher, it is a win/win situation. They are guaranteed to catch a fish, and you are guaranteed to see the smiles of accomplishments on their face.

No pole or bait you say. No problem. They also have poles available for rent as well as sell bait. The poles they rent for $2 for the day, worms, $2 a dozen. You don't know how to clean your catch, no problem! They have on site cleaning for you to your specific request. You can simply have them dressed for 50 cents a pond, I believe, or fillet for $1 a pond.

You can use your own poles as we do if you wish. It does help save a little money. You are required to keep all that you catch; there is no throwing back. They ask that you do not use minnows and alcohol is not allowed on the premises. The kids also enjoy going to a smaller pond that is inactive but loaded with frogs, using their nets to capture them. Of course, they were required to release them per Dad and Moms orders!

Rushing Waters provide grills and picnic areas if you choose to cook your fish on the site and enjoy a trout picnic. You pay $5.00 a pound on your catch. Our catch tallied up to a whopping $48.50 but it was worth all the smiles we got from our four boys. We clean and filet them ourselves saving a few extra dollars, but the boys still get a kick out of watching the fish butchers do it behind the big glass window in their store.

Rushing Waters Fishery sells everything to dressings for your catch, smoked trout and salmon, as well as their famous fresh trout. We always end up walking out with some smoked trout to go. Rushing Waters sells to restaurants as well as take individual orders if you choose not to fish. You can find out more at their website: http://rushingwaters.net/index.html, which also offers directions to the facilities.

For a great Saturday get your poles out and hit the waters at Rushing Waters. I promise all will have a good time.

Man, I would love to go fishing! I can't do much but race past the old fishing hole at 70 mph. Where the heck is this in relation to Miwuakee? I have to go up there and then on to the Quad Cities soon. I may drop a line.
