Russell Brand and Katy Perry -- Are They Already Husband and Wife?

Russell Brand and Katy Perry have dominated the celebrity romance news. The 35-year-old British comedian and the 25-year-old pop singer got engaged in India in 2009. Plans for a big up-coming India six-day wedding celebration, with up to 50 to 75 guests, including singer Rihanna, flown in on private jets and staying in "pimped-out" tents, have been reported by the couple. But as reported at Showbiz, the couple may have already tied the knot.

Brand was seen leaving the Dorchester hotel in London wearing a "simple gold band around his wedding finger." The couple had indicated that they wanted to keep their actual wedding ceremony intimate, with only close friends and family. They've been in London before they head off to India. E Online had reported that the couple may be tying the knot at the Rambagh Palace in Jaipur, where they got engaged. But as reported at NDTV Movies, Rambagh Palace has no bookings, "We are not sure from where this news emerged. We have vacant rooms for the day when everyone says this marriage will take place," said a source from the hotel.

Did Katy Perry tame Russell Brand?

Russell Brand has a history of addictions, namely heroin, alcohol and sex, but he claims he is recovered from all three and hasn't taken drugs in seven years. Katy Perry takes the credit for taming her fiancé, who she calls a "professional prostitute," even though she just met him last September.

Now Brand is ready to settle down with Katy Perry and have a family. "Regardless of what happens in my current situation, I am unlikely to be satisfied with calamitous promiscuity of the preceding five or six years."

But do we believe it? How many celebrity relationships start out this way? How many times have we heard, "I've put my past behind me and I'm ready to settle down"? It worked for Warren Beatty, but can it work for Russell Brand?

If they did get married, or if they're going to get married any day now, what about that pre-nup?

When celebrities are all over the news, gooey-eyed for each other, talking publicly about their dream weddings, it's hard not to wonder how long the marriages will actually last. How many celebrity marriages have ended in divorce? Too many to count? Even Courteney Cox and David Arquette may soon be added to the long list of celebrity divorces.

So, it's surprising that Russell Brand has announced that there will be no pre-nup between he and the misses. "It ain't about selling the pictures, it ain't about doing no pre-nup. It's like a normal thing," says Brand.

Well...not so normal. Right now Katy Perry is a beautiful, young pop star and Russell Brand is a popular comedian. They're both at the height of their fame. But if they haven't managed their millions properly by the time they are no longer hot, no pre-nup may be a wise move, indeed.
