Russell Stover White Pastelle Easter Bunny Review

Amy Brantley
Since I was a small child, I remember always loving white chocolate Easter bunnies the best. My love for white chocolate has not diminished over the years and while shopping for Easter candy, I stumbled across Russell Stover's White Pastelle Easter Bunny. This chocolate bunny weighed in at 3 ounces and was solid white chocolate. I simply had to try it. Would this bunny be super creamy and delicious? Keep reading to find out.

I, of course, went straight for the ears. I was immediately hit with the creamy taste of white chocolate, but as I chewed I was immediately disappointed. The texture was crumbly and almost grainy. This was not what I was used to. I've had cheap white chocolate that seemed rather waxy and while this didn't seem waxy at all, the texture was still awful. However, the taste was creamy and tasted like good quality white chocolate.

A serving of the Russell Stover White Pastelle Easter Bunny is ½ a package. This serving contains 240 calories, 14 grams of fat, 12 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams of trans-fat, 5mg of cholesterol, 35mg of sodium, 26 grams of carbohydrates, 0 grams of fiber, 26 grams of sugar, 2 grams of protein and 6% of your daily calcium.

Personally, I'm not surprised that this item turned out to be poor quality. Over the past few years, Russell Stover candy has changed in quality. I remember growing up eating Russell Stover candy at my grandmother's house and have loved their boxed candy for years. However, the last box of candy I purchased from Russell Stover was nothing like it used to be. The only good thing I can really say about this product is that it's made in the USA. This is saying a lot when you consider that other top brands are sending their manufacturing process to places like Mexico.

I give the Russell Stover White Pastelle Easter Bunny 1 out of 5 stars. I would never purchase this product again and cannot recommend it to even the most diehard white chocolate lovers. At a price of $1.78, I recommend spending your money on a smaller, higher quality piece of white chocolate.
