A Date with a Narwhal.

This piece is both lighthearted and intense, playful yet serious. The young girl is simple and happy, the Narwhal proper as he should be. And there are squid in the trees and on the ground. Yes, it is a magical fairyland where nothing is ugly or inappropriate, but all is fresh and new.
Russian Abstract Art
http://popartmachine.com/blog/russian-abstract-art.html
Pop Art Machine displays Russian abstract art, which really is not as abstract as you might think. Abstract art can be anything, showing partial, mostly or zero representation of familiar objects. Russian abstracts are far more concrete and solid than American abstracts. The materials, the coloring, the lighting and the subject matter are touchable and understandable.
SOTSArt

Alexander Kosolapov has created amazing pop art with stereotypical item found in Russian culture, both past and modern. His sculptures and depictions are mostly three-dimensional, but he has some giant prints as well. My favorite is the wall of caviar.
Russian Cubism

Lyubov Popova has created a piece of Cubism art which typifies Russian style. The piece is essentially 3D abstract, with bright, eye-popping colors, foreshortening, stacking and a little chaos. Clear or vague objects can be within the picture, but even the clearly identifiable objects have been "cubified."
Modified Russian Art

Famous classical Russian paintings have been given a new twist. Yoda appears in a classical nude, and a beautiful Russian girl is having her passport checked. All of these classical painting have been modified and the results are simply fascinating, as well as comical and entertaining.
