Bemidji, Minnesota, is around sixty miles west of the very popular Grand Rapids. Bemidji is right between Lake Bemidji and Lake Irving, with over 50 other lakes within a 15 mile radius. There are numerous lakes nearby to satisfy the fisherman in your family or simply to spend the day at swimming and hiking. Lake Bemidji State Park
Lake Bemidji State Park is a favorite weekend getaway for locals as well as campers who are traveling across Minnesota. This park has multiple campsites scattered around the Bemidji area but they are all managed by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and many of them are handicap accessible. Lake Bemidji State Park has a well maintained trail system that is perfect for avid hikers and mountain bikers of all skill levels.
Balsam Beach Resort & Camp
Balsam Beach Resort & Camp is located in southern Bemidji on the bank of Lake Plantaganet which is a very large lake that is great for boating, fishing, water skiing and swimming. This campground features cabins and RV campsites but no tent camping. Balsam Beach Resort & Camp offers visitors a wide range of activities such as a playground, hiking, biking, volleyball, boat rentals and tons of child-centric activities on site. Black Lantern Resort & Retreat
The Black Lantern Resort is located about 15 miles west of Bemidji next to Berg Lake and is surrounded by lush forests. This campground has cabin rentals and is accessible for tent camping and RV camping. Berg Lake is very popular due to great fishing in warmer months and excellent ice fishing during the winter. There are life jackets available for swimmers and boaters and a full shower/bathroom for anyone camping there.
Summer Haven RV Resort
The Summer Haven RV Resort is a very popular RV resort located about 20 miles northeast of the Bemidji city center. This camp features very large RV campsites with access to playgrounds, swimming pools, and access to Gulf Lake. This is a prime area for water sports, hiking, and mountain biking and there is an on-site general store so you don't have to go into town.
