RV Parks in Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming

Located in the northwestern section of Wyoming, the Grand Teton National Park encompasses about 300,000 acres. The park, established in 1929, has nearly 100 miles of paved roads and 200 miles of hiking trails. The park has five campgrounds, in which two sites provide pull through sites for trailers and RVs.

Geography

The Grand Teton National Park vista is rich in mountains, lakes and wildlife. The Teton Range has valleys and glacial lakes at the base. The climate is an arid mountain climate. The summer-time temperature highs are near 90 degrees.

National Park Campgrounds

The National Park area has five of campgrounds that will accommodate RVs. All campgrounds will accommodate tents, trailers and small RVs, however, not all of the campgrounds have utility hookups. All campgrounds have comfort stations. The maximum stay at the campgrounds is fourteen days.

Gros Ventre Campground

The campground is located in the eastern portion of the national park. It lies along the Gros Ventre River and has camping sites under cottonwood trees. The 360 sites are flat and roomy. The campground is open from May to mid-October and requires advance reservations. Campground amenities include dumping station, picnic tables, fire pits and restrooms.

Signal Mountain Campground

The Signal Mountain campground has 81 camping sites that are available from May through mid-October. This is a first come first service campground and fills up quickly. The campground is adjacent to the Lodge and marina. The campsites are small limiting RV size to 30 feet. Amenities include a trailer dumping station, restrooms, marina and camp store. The campground is 16- miles north of Jenny Lake and a short walking distance to Lake Jackson.

Colter Bay Campground

Colter Bay is located at Jackson Lake and has 350 large wooded sites. Colter Bay is open from May to late September and requires advance reservations. Amenities include full RV hookups, restrooms with showers, food store, dumping station, laundry and propane. Sites also include picnic tables and fire pits. Local services also provide a gas station and a marina.

Lizard Creek Campground

Lizard Creek is located on the north end of the national park. The campground is above Jackson Lake in a spruce and fir forest. It has 60 small sites and is open from June to early September. This is a first come first service campground and fills up quickly. This campground has no amenities or services. The small campsites limit RV sizes to 30 feet.

Flagg Ranch

The Flagg Ranch campground is located 5-miles north of the park on the John D. Rockefeller Parkway. It has 100 wooded RV sites with full hookups. Amenities include showers, laundry and food store.

National Park activities

The National Park is an outdoor athletes dream. Activities within the national park included wildlife watching, guided tours, fishing, biking, kayaking, horseback riding and climbing. Hiking within the national park can vary between an easy 2-mile and strenuous 11-mile hike. Jackson Lake and the Snake River provide water-based activities such as fishing, rafting trips, canoeing, and sailing.
