RVing with Your Dog in Kemah, Texas

Deborah Anderson
Many people travel to the Kemah, Texas area to enjoy what the area has to offer, such as NASA and the Kemah Boardwalk as well as great fishing in the bay or pleasure boating. They may even have traveled here to enjoy the fabulous bird watching opportunities. These same people will be looking for a place to stay while they are in the area and many of them will be RVers who are looking for that perfect "home base" where they can park their RV that will be used as their home away from home. These Rvers will often have dogs that travel with them and the perfect spot for them to stay will be one that openly welcomes their dog or dogs. Fortunately for them, there is at least one RV Resort that welcomes dogs and there is even a restaurant that openly welcome dogs, as long as they are well behaved! The RV Resort is Marina Bay RV Resort and the restaurant is the Terrace Café.

Marina Bay RV Resort is located at 925 Marina Bay Drive, which is also known as FM 2094 in Kemah, Texas. This RV Resort is in what is known as the Bay Area of Houston, Texas on the southern shore of Clear Lake. RVers who choose to stay at this RV Resort will be pleased to know that there is a grassy area to walk their pets. They should also know that the same rules that are found at most RV parks or resorts apply at Marina Bay RV Resort such as keeping the dog on a leash that is 6 feet in length or shorter whenever they are outside their RV, the dog should be well behaved and not bother other people or pets in the park and the dog should always be picked up after.

After settling into the Marina Bay RV Resort, the RVer who is visiting the Kemah, Texas area with their dog may be looking for a great place to eat but one that the dog is welcome at as well. The Terrace Café, located at 609 Bradford Avenue, Kemah, Texas, has a large patio area where patrons can dine with their dogs along side them. To get to this unique restaurant, the dog owner RVer will have to go upstairs at the corner of 7th and Bradford. If they choose to ride the elevator, it will be important to know that the restaurant is located on the opposite side of the building from the elevator. Dogs are more than welcome at the patio area of this establishment as long as they are leashed and well behaved. They will even be treated to fresh water and a doggie treat while they are there.

Traveling with a dog is not always an easy task, even in an RV. With a little planning ahead of time though, the task is not quite as daunting. This planning can often include looking for places that openly welcome dogs as well as other pets.
